Karibu! (Welcome)

Welcome!  I am a follower of Jesus who is moving to East Africa in June to teach English and train teachers.  It has almost been two years since I was there last and I am so excited to step foot back on the island!  My hope is to update this blog weekly to give you a taste of life on the other side of the world, share successes, failures (I'm sure there will be plenty in learning the language and culture-feel free to laugh with me or at me), and stories of new and growing friendships. I will also share ways you can specifically be praying with and for me.  I'm so grateful and blessed by the body of believers who have already committed to partner with me in prayer for this new adventure and welcome anyone else who is interested! I know that prayer is the work and we have a Father in Heaven who delights in our asking and receives the glory in our complete dependence on Him!  If you are interested in receiving e-mail updates when I create a new post, please enter your e-mail address in the "Follow by Email" tab on the left side.

Another random tidbit is that I am learning Swahili and will throw some cool words your way every once and a while.  Today's word is Tangawizi, which translated means Ginger!  Names don't get much cooler than that :)
